UNITING PEOPLE, PLACE & PURPOSE

There is a need across our district to better identify struggling students and to embed strong literacy practices and intervention for readers. The GoRead program is a privately funded initiative that provides one-on-one and small group instruction, includes stronger assessment practices and tools needed for identification, and funds district-wide professional learning experiences for all kindergarten-3rd grade teachers specifically focused on dyslexia.

As the district reimagines learning design for students and leaders, there is a focus to unite every student quarterly to people and places throughout our community to create more authentic and real experiences. Historically, schools have functioned as highly self-contained communities. As the world changes, schools are being challenged to rethink learning experiences that are driven by empowered learning competencies needed for the future. Community classroom grants will provide opportunities to expand learning environments and to connect students with people and places that will ignite their future.

As the state works to increase postsecondary credentials, there is also a need to better align high school & college program offerings to academic and technical programs that position students to succeed in the workforce of today and tomorrow.

There is an increased need for credentialed and skilled employees in the areas of advanced manufacturing, business and information technology, construction, healthcare services and transportation & logistics.
